New Market News

The ABC Reports:

Despite the recent surge of optimism about Australia's economic recovery, a report on the health of listed companies is not so encouraging.

More than 70 per cent of 200 companies outside the financial services sector went backwards, according to the Australian Corporate Health Index.

Martin Graham - Director

“At some point in the life of every human we come to a realisation – the reason why we’re here.  When your personal ‘reason’ becomes clear it is an amazing, wonderful, freeing feeling …., at once a release and relief as well as a challenge – the universe looking you straight in the eye and saying ‘well … now you know.  What are you going to do about it?’, Martin says.

‘Human beings have changed.  Whilst millennia ago we were preconditioned to cooperate we are now conditioned to compete.

'Today this is most manifest in trade and enterprise - commerce.

‘In my mind it is without doubt that current ‘commerce’ is damaging the planet for all its inhabitants and whilst I’m not sure I can alter our tendency toward competition I know I can impact upon the reward being competed for.

‘The reason I am here is to redefine ‘commerce’ as the sustainable, growing exchange of commercial opportunities to nourish the planet and all its inhabitants including mankind and see that definition made real through practical action – the action of Brando; finding, growing and replicating ecologically sustainable, socially responsible projects, organisations and companies.’

‘If we are to compete, let us compete to create and implement business services that actually nourish the planet rather than harm it and carry out commerce with others who are like minded.’

‘Critical mass will take care of the rest and if you doubt that think about the birth of the industrial revolution.’

His passion is obvious.
